Biography

“Soul”, which literally means soul, is a term that was used to refer to that part of black, dramatic, spiritual music, which was expressed in stylistic ways deriving essentially from gospel. “Shine”, because the Gospel Choir of Riardo, a wonderful village in the upper Caserta area, shines for its verve, for its energy, sometimes for its madness, presents in addition to its gospel repertoire also contemporary contaminations, pop, disco music.
We are not only Gospel, not only Soul, but we are the one and only SoulShine.

Soulshine Gospel of Riardo (CE) is a project born from a group of musicians from the upper Caserta area with the desire to convey the joy of making music through singing.

The choir was founded in 2010 with the name The Rhytm of the Spirit, but already during the first year of life it embarks on an ever-increasing evolutionary path pursued with great determination, thanks to the common passion of the members for the gospel genre and the intention to transmit a message of faith.

The formation is a mixed choral made up of a group of about 13 elements, directed by Maestro Maria Nunzia Piscitelli.

The Choir avails itself of the collaboration on the piano of Maestro Roberta Menditto and on the percussion of Maestro Giovanni Munno.

Soulshine Gospel offers a repertoire that includes a cappella songs and structurally richer songs, traditional gospel, contemporary gospel and international pop music.

The activity of the choir ranges from concerts in churches, theaters, squares and festivals to the animation of religious celebrations.

The choir has participated in events, festivals, white nights, Christmas markets and has held numerous concerts, including Christmas tours called ChristmasShine Tour. He has also collaborated with various singers of the pop scene, poets, actors.

In October 2014 he participated in the cultural event “Itinerario d’arte il Terra di Lavoro” at the Medieval Village of Riardo (CE). He has participated as a guest in various events such as Telethon and in the television program Anja Show, broadcast on Italiamia, with which he recorded a CD of Christmas songs.

In Christmas 2016 with V-Group International Social Art Association of Naples he created a flash-mob in the heart of Naples entitled From Naples ti Peace, taken up by many newspapers including Repubblica.it.

In June 2017 he worked on a CD entitled ONE. It organizes, since 2014, in synergy with the Cultural Association Note di Cultura, the backbone of the choir itself, Borghi Incantati Choir Festival in the Medieval Village of Riardo (CE), a choral festival aimed at enhancing the artistic, cultural and environmental heritage.
