The Choir was founded in October 2010 by the will and enthusiasm of some young people from different groups of the parish of St. Anthony of Padua in Gravina di Catania to carry out mainly the activity of liturgical animation in the various parish celebrations.
The choir is composed of people united by friendship and common passion for singing.
After the first year of singing for the liturgy, the choir slowly began to experiment with polyphony, so much so that the conductor organized for the year 2011 the first Christmas concert, held in the parish of St. Anthony of Padua in Gravina di Catania and performed with the accompaniment of the “Carl Stamitz” String and Wind Orchestra.
The enthusiasm, the faith, the desire of the choristers and the tenacity and skill of the masters Andrea Maugeri and Stefano Leonardi led to organize every year the Grand Christmas Concert, always accompanied by the “Carl Stamitz” orchestra, which has now become a tradition for the entire Gravina community.
In 2013, in the wake of the appreciation obtained for the performance of the first Christmas concerts, the decision to establish the choir as a cultural association matured, for the purpose of promoting and developing both liturgical, popular and profane singing.
The choir attended many events, important liturgical celebrations in the presence of the highest ecclesiastical offices, great concerts, choral gatherings, which contributed to increasing the musical and human experience.
To this day the love for singing continues to unite us and make us grow in Music, so much so as to make us, as we like to call ourselves, “a big family”.
