The Institute Choir of the Liceo Mazzini, was formed thanks to the will of Prof. Annamaria Pizzati, with the intention of forming a stable choral polyphonic group within a school that gathers about 1200 students and in order to spread not only the Calabrian and Italian musical repertoire, but also that of European cultures related to the languages that the students study.

Prof. Annamaria Pizzati, in service at the Liceo delle Scienze Umane e Linguistico “G. Mazzini” of Locri since 2015, as a teacher of Italian and Latin, she graduated in Singing at the Conservatory “A. Corelli” of Messina on 29/06/1999.

In the musical activities of the choir she was supported and supported by Prof. Rita Palmieri, English language teacher in service at the same institute, who is part of the choral group together with other teachers of the school (prof. De Marzo, De Fiores, Ceravolo, Del Pozzo).

The Institute Choir during these years has promoted the following activities:
Christmas Concert, Remembrance Day, Cultural Exchange with a High School in London, Festival of Languages, European Day of Languages, End of Year Show, Show for the delivery of certifications in Chinese, animation of numerous conferences and debates.

Since 1984 Maestro Pizzati directs the polyphonic parish choir “San Giovanni Battista” of Samo (RC).

He has participated in numerous refresher courses and diocesan and regional choral gatherings, in musical performances organized by various associations (AVIS, FIDAPA). In September 2015 he participated in RC at the event “On the notes of bergamot” under the direction of Maestro Riccardo Frizza. She has performed, as a soprano, in numerous concerts.
