Biography

The choir "Voci in festa – Città di Mantova", founded in September 2008 by the will of the Cultural Association P. Pomponazzo in collaboration with the I.C. Mn1 "Luisa Levi", is prepared and directed by Maestro Marino Cavalca and is open to all schoolchildren and students of the schools of Mantua and Province.

The young choristers have performed in recent years in numerous concerts and performances.

In particular, in 2011 they accompanied the singer Elisa on her tour "Ivy 1 & 2" in the Social Theaters of Mantua, Ponchielli of Cremona, and Valli of Reggio Emilia. This last concert was recorded by a TV of national importance.
They sang the Anthem of Italy in the presence of the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano at the Teatro Bibiena, on the occasion of his visit to Mantua on 6 December. They inaugurated with their songs the renewed Piazza Martiri, and since 2012 the Christmas Albert that every year is donated by the city of Bressanone.
Also in 2012 they supported the populations affected by the earthquake with a concert performed in the earthquake camp of San Giacomo delle Segnate.

The Voci in Festa has been and is present on the occasion of various city events and in 2015 received the recognition of "Choir of the City" and "Ambassador of Mantua" in Italy and abroad.

Particularly appreciated by the public, the concert of Auguri alla Città, which takes place in the church of S. Simone in Mantua in December.

It should also be noted the collaboration started with the Spanish children's choir "Mansil-Nahar" of the city of Manzanares, with whom there was a double exchange in July 2012, in Mantua and in July 2013, in Spain.

In July 2014 he went to Munich where he performed in the prestigious Burgersaalkirke.

For some years the choir has been accompanied in its performances by the instrumental ensemble "Piccola Orchestra Città di Mantova" composed of young choristers students of the Conservatory of Music and Music Schools.
