The Polyphonic Choir “Carmina et Cantores” founded in the spring of 2010 by the will and initiative of the current Maestro Maria Chiara Piras, in December 2011 was formed into a Musical Association. It carries out the rehearsals at the Social Aggregation Center of Norbello, and is composed of 28 choristers from Norbello, Ghilarza, Abbasanta and Tadasuni.
In this territory, suited to male polyphonic singing, it was hoped that a mixed choir would be established; this need was grasped with enthusiasm by Maria Chiara Piras, who supported by joyful commitment and determination follows this team with all the passion that is proper to its character.
The activity of the choir is oriented to the study and performance of sacred music in Latin which also includes pieces in Gregorian Chant.
Despite his still young period of activity he participated in various events and concerts; it can boast several collaborations with various Sardinian choral realities and is often required for liturgical animation on the occasion of weddings and anniversaries.
The Association organizes in July, as part of the event that takes place in honor of the Patron Saints of Norbello, Santa Giulitta and San Quirico, the Concert Polyphonic Choirs, now in its 8th edition in 2019 and on the occasion of the Christmas holidays the Christmas Concert.
