In 2007 the meeting of a group of passionate choristers, coming from different musical experiences, leads at first to the birth of the Priamo Gallisay Male Choir and then to the establishment of the homonymous Cultural Association. Within the Association, the Male Choir plays the most impactful active role in supporting the strategic approach desired by the founders.

The Choir has been working, since its establishment, exploring various fields and musical styles linked by the common thread of cultural promotion, learning and training of its members.

The repertoire reflects this trend, including pieces of sacred and profane Polyphony, Gospel and Spiritual, opera pieces and popular music to testify to the identity culture of Sardinia.

The Corale Gallisay has given concerts in Italy and abroad and participated in prestigious national and international competitions. Since 2012 he has been organizing the Festival of Singing and Sacred Music at the Cathedral of Santa Maria della Neve in Nuoro.

Since its inception, the Corale Priamo Gallisay has been conducted by Maestro Sandro Pisanu who studied singing in Cagliari with the soprano Elisabetta Scano. Maestro Pisanu combines the sacred repertoire with the operatic one and has participated in several international opera concerts. He has to his credit numerous tours in Italy and abroad. He collaborated in the research and drafting of the publication Ispera, a collection of original melodies of Ollolai’s Barbagia.
The repertoire includes pieces of sacred and profane polyphony, Gospel and Spiritual, opera pieces and popular music.

In 2010 the Choir participated in the National Competition “Riviera Etrusca” of Piombino winning the 1st prize in the Popular Song and the 2nd prize in the Sacred Song so-called “a cappella”.
In May 2013 he participated in the “Choral Festival Sangerstevne” in London.
In September 2014 the Choir was selected and admitted to participate in the “VIII Edition of the International Choral Competition” in Rimini.
In May 2015 he organized the Concert with Reciting Voices “Il Maggio Radiso”, on the occasion of the Centenary of the First World War. The event, organized in collaboration with the HistoriaNostra Association of Nuoro and funded by the Banco di Sardegna Foundation for its important historical and cultural value, was attended by the ANA Choir of the Udine – Codroipo section, the Priamo Gallisay String Ensemble, the Pianist Antonella Chironi and the actors of the “I Segni delle Radici” Theatrical Association.
La Corale has held concerts in collaboration with important musical associations and with some of the most acclaimed professionals of opera singing and chamber music on the island.

Since 2012 the Cultural Association Priamo Gallisay organizes the Festival of Singing and Sacred Music at the Cathedral of Santa Maria della Neve in Nuoro now in its seventh edition in 2018. This saw the artistic participation of Corali, musical formations and protagonists of the island and national art scene.
