The Rosae Iubili Polyphonic Choir of Paravati comes to life on October 13, 2015 within the Confraternity of SS.Maria Addolorata of Paravati on the initiative of a group of confreres who entrust the direction to Maestro Giancarlo Colloca.
The activities of the Rosae Iubili Choir are immediately aimed at the cult of SS.Mary of Sorrows who inspired her birth: the term “iubili” recalls the 7 gaudi and 7 sorrows of Our Lady and carries within itself the intentions of a Choir that takes shape in the year of the Jubilee of Mercy, to serve the art of music and use it in order to bring joy, jubilation, to the heart of those who sing and those who listen; “rosae” like those of the Rosary: all the members of the Choir had the gift of witnessing to the works of Natuzza Evolo who, by his own example, transmitted the culture of the Cenacle of Prayer. Every evening spent rehearsing in the Choir is an opportunity to be together in harmony and to reflect on the deep meanings of the Word, to which to give a form to be shaped with the Song.
The activities that the “Rosae Iubili” Choir has carried out over the years, are of a religious, cultural and social commitment nature, with the realization of events such as gatherings, reviews, concerts, solemn masses, training courses, often in collaboration with realities and institutional, musical, religious and cultural bodies of the local territory, from other regions of Italy and abroad.
The Cultural Association Polyphonic Choir “Rosae Iubili”, was registered on October 13, 2017 and to date is legally represented by Pasqualina Polito in the position of President.
The Rosae Iubili Choir is directed by Maestro Giancarlo Colloca, musician and teacher.
He began his choral training in 1994, as a young singer and guitar student at the Conservatory of Vibo Valentia, under the guidance of Maestro Vincenzo Barbieri.
