Academic Choir of the Jaroslaw Dabrowski Military University of Technology in Warsaw was founded in September 2013.
The team consists mostly of students and graduates of the Military University of Technology. Young and ambitious people, devoted to the passion of group singing, begin their adventure with music in small steps. Although some of the choir members used to have contact with education at a music school, for most of them the adventure with music is just one of their hobbies. The source of success is hard work, but thanks to the fact that there is a very good, friendly atmosphere in the band, the meetings, apart from improving the musical skills, are an opportunity to establish friendly bonds between the singers.
Dr. Joanna Korczago is the conductor and artistic director of the Choir, and Dr. Bogumiła Dziel-Wawrowska is responsible for educating the vocal technique of the choir members. So far, the Academic Choir of the Military University of Technology has been actively participating in the cultural life of the University. It has already created the musical setting for various university celebrations many times (e.g. Inauguration, occasional Christmas meetings, Christmas Eve Meeting of the President of the Republic of Poland with soldiers of the Polish Army, Television Mass at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Łagiewniki). It also represents the university at national and international festivals, winning numerous awards, including: 1st place at the 36th International Festival of Orthodox Church Music Hajnówka 2017, 1st prize and a special prize for the highest score in the category at the 3rd International Sacred Music Choir Competition Carmen Fidei, 1st prize and the Golden Lyre at the 12th Warsaw International Choir Festival Varsovia Cantat, 1st place at the Warsaw International Choir Festival of Advent and Christmas Songs, 1st place at the 18th Cantio Lodziensis Choir Festival, gold diploma and the highest score in the general classification at the 5th National Sacred Music Competition Hope in Choir. As an organizer of the National Choir Festival Cantat viWAT, since 2016 has been taking care of the popularization of the artistic achievements of Polish choral music, with particular emphasis on patriotic and military compositions.
