The CHOIR OF JOY was born 10 years ago by the will of Alessandra Vegni, guitarist and head of the Choir, who feels the need to animate one of the Sunday celebrations to provide a service to the community. Alessandra, also coordinator of catechesis for 13 years, began her choral journey with 5 boys, four choristers and a guitarist, joined by the young and talented Davide Persico, percussionist and guitarist.
At the end of 2014 Maria Rosa Campanale, still director of the Choir and head of the parish Caritas, joined the choir as choral animator.
Maria Rosa studied piano as a child but her passion remains singing.
She studied light singing for 5 years, participated in various events and singing shows and in 2019 she entered as a soprano in roma Gospel Voices.
The Choir during these years has animated the most significant celebrations of the Sanctuary also making use of the collaboration of external musicians:
Francesco Campanale, talented self-taught guitarist, who assists them in solemn celebrations and has curated and arranged for them the instrumental part of the first unpublished song of the choir, entitled "ANGELO DI DIO", usable on you tube.
Roberto Giacomardo, pianist, graduated from the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia and who finished his studies as an international exchange student at the Leipzig Hochschule fur Music und Theater " F. Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig.
Sara Mecozzi, violinist, concert performer for the junior orchestra until 2020 and who is finishing her studies at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory.
Occasionally he collaborates with them the multi-instrumentalist maestro Alessandro Mazziotti and the cellist Susanna Garcia Rubia.
The Choir participated with commitment in the third INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF CHOIRS IN THE VATICAN in 2018, putting into practice the teachings received to bring their support and choral involvement to the assembly to the best of their support and involvement.
At the request of Don Odoardo Valentini at the church of San Rocco, he animated several times the Holy Mass dedicated to the Poor, with the intention of bringing a contribution of hope and consolation to the most needy.
The Choir of Joy offered its service at the Shrine of Divine Love.
To date, the Choir consists of 20 elements: 15 choristers and 5 musicians: Alessandro Gigliotti guitarist, Giampiero Tatarelli clarinetist and Franca Presti flutist in addition to the already mentioned.
Currently the choral activities are visible on the Facebook page, on the you tube channel and recently also on Instagram.
