The Appassionato choir represent the Faculty of Sience and Arts from the Valahia University of Targoviste and The Hall of Targoviste. The group was founded in 1999 at the initiative of Assistent Professor Ioan Golcea Ph.D the dean from that time, and Professor Florin Emil Nicolae BADEA Ph.D. This group carry the mark of youth and the vocal freshness bringed by the voices of, students, graduates, and the students from the High School of Art ‚, Domnița Bălașa’’ from Targoviste.
The group repertory consist, pricipaly, of proccesing of Romanin folklore, exploitation of Romanian ancient tradition, secular and religious, in choral tresures from the universal music, Romanian music, classic music and contemporary music.
The concerts of Appassionato choir were held on prestigious stages of Targoviste: Theater ,, Tony Bulandra’’, University Auditorium and The Siynagogue. In Bucharest: St. Joseph Cathedral, National University of Music Bucharest, George Enescu Museum and the festivals around the country: International Choral Music Festival ,,D.G. Kiriac’’- Pitesti, Festival Choir ,, Gheorghe Cucu’’- Slatina, International Choir Festival ,, Pastorala’’- Focsani and outside of country: International Festival of Universitary Music-Belfort, France (2005-2010), International Choir Music Festival ,, Antonio Vivaldi’’,Kapenissi, Greece (2006), International Choir Festival, Montreux, Switzerland (2007) , Sacred Music Festival, Rome-Vatican, Italy (2008), Choir Music Festival, Preveza, Greece (2009), Choir Music Festival Krakow, Poland (2010) , Prague Voices, Czech Republic (2012), Ohrid Choir Festival (2013), Macedonia and Festival of Choral Art in Jihlava, Czech Republic (2014) from where they returned with important awards.
Also, the Appassionato Choir, delighted the audience with perfomances at Academia di Romania from Rome, Cultural Centre from Venice, in Naples, at the Cultural Centre of Romanian Embassy from Paris, in Ciudad Real, Spain, and at the European Parliament.
