Katrineholms kammarkör was founded in 1974 by its conductor for 35 years, Ingemar Peterson. Since 2009, the conductor for Katrineholms kammarkör is Ingrid Falk. The repertoire contains music from the Renaissance to contemporary music, both secular and sacred music.

The choir performs mainly in Katrineholm (our home town, some 150 kilometers southwest of Stockholm) and its surroundings, but has also taken part in festivals and competitions in other places in Sweden and abroad. Denmark, Germany, France, Belgium, United Kingdom, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Poland are all countries visited by the choir for festivals, concerts and/or competitions
Katrineholms kammarkör often performs together with Katrineholm Symphony Orchestra. Music such as Brahms’ Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, Haydn’s The Creation, Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess et cetera have been performed by the choir and the orchestra.
