The Poznań University of Technology “Volantes Soni” Choir has been nurturing and developing the tradition of choral singing at the university since its founding in 1999. The ensemble has been continuously active under the patronage of the University Cultural Center of Poznań University of Technology, playing an important role in the artistic life of the institution.
“Volantes Soni” is a community that brings together individuals with diverse passions and backgrounds. The choir includes not only students but also alumni of Poznań University of Technology and other Poznań-based universities, as well as people from various professional fields, reflecting its openness and diversity.
The choir enhances the artistic setting of academic ceremonies and is also actively engaged in concert performances in Poznań and its surroundings. It appears on the city’s most prominent stages, contributing to the richness and growth of the region’s cultural life. The ensemble places particular emphasis on social involvement – frequently participating in charity concerts organized in churches, hospitals, special schools, and orphanages. It has often co-organized such events, bringing joy and support to those in need.
The choir’s repertoire is remarkably diverse, ranging from sacred and secular works of various eras to modern arrangements of folk songs and popular music. This versatility allows “Volantes Soni” to meet the expectations of a wide audience.
Since 2005, the choir has been led by Paweł Łuczak, PhD, a lecturer at the Academy of Music in Poznań, who not only oversees the artistic development of the ensemble but also inspires its members to continuously improve their skills. Since 2020, Jakub Szpunt has served as the choir’s assistant conductor.
“Volantes Soni” is not only a space for musical passion but also a place of integration and building lasting bonds, making it a unique presence in the academic and artistic community of Poznań.
