“CANTUS JUVENTAE” is a student choir of the Minsk State Linguistic University. The team was organized in 1986 among the students of the various faculties of the university. Today the concert composition of the choir is made up of 50 people.

The choir’s repertoire includes works by Russian, Soviet and Belarusian composers, arrangements of folk songs from different countries, pieces of Western classics, cantata-oratorio and suite forms, spirituals. Since 1988, CANTUS JUVENTAE has led an active concert life both in Belarus and abroad (Austria, Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Lietuva).
The choir has participated in various choral festivals and competitions:
in 2007 at the “Voices Unlimited” International Festival-Competition (Netherlands 2007), where the choir obtained the 1st degree diploma (cum laude);
in 2009 at the XXVIII International Festival of Sacred Music “Hajnówka 2009”;
in 2011 at the sacred music festival “Kalozhsky Blagovest” (Grodno);
in 2012 the choir received the “Golden Diploma” in the category of secular amateur choirs (Orthodox spiritual music) at the international choir festival-competition “Kaunas musika religiosa” (Kaunas, Lithuania);
in 2016 at the XXXV International Festival of Sacred Music “Hajnówka 2016” Poland (Bialystok), where the choir graduated with honors;
in 2017 at the XXIX International Festival-Competition “CHRISTMAS 2017” held by the International Association “CHORUS INSIDE INTERNATIONAL” Budapest (Hungary), where the student choir received a “GOLD” degree diploma for its performance in the “National Choral Music” category “and the” GRAND PRIX “award for performance in the” Sacred / polyphonic music “category.
In March 2018, the MSLU student choir “CANTUS JUVENTAE” took part in the concert of the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus, conducted by the Belarusian folk artist, Alexander Mikhailovich Anisimov.
The orchestra, the choir and the soloists performed the music by E. Grieg for the homonymous play by G. Ibsen “Peer Gynt”. The concert received rave reviews from the audience.
The student choir MSLU “CANTUS JUVENTAE” was separately noted with gratitude for the high professionalism and vivid embodiment of the work’s artistic image.
In 2020, at the International Online Choral Festival “CHORUS INSIDE” Italy (Rome), the team obtained a 1st degree diploma in the “Polyphonic Music” nomination, as well as a 1st degree diploma in the “Contemporary Music” nomination.
Once every two years, the student choir of the Moscow State Linguistic University “CANTUS JUVENTAE” participates in the International Choral Assembly “CHOIR OF LINGUISTS”, which brings together the choirs of the linguistic universities of Moscow, Minsk and Nizhny Novgorod. Traditionally, within the Assembly, teams hold joint concerts for the exchange of professional experiences, as well as to maintain cooperation and friendly relations between leading linguistic universities in the post-Soviet space.
The team actively participates in the creative life of the university and inter-university work. During the 2017/2018 academic year the student choir took part in 17 different events and concerts:
13 October 2017 in a festive concert dedicated to Mother’s Day.
27 October 2017 in the festive concert “Dedication to students – 2017”.
November 9, 2017 in the concert “Musical Autumn in Art”.
8 December 2017 in the concert “Christmas with Friends”, KZ “Upper City”.
From 12 to 19 December 2017 the “Cantus Juventae” choir participated in the XXIX International Festival “Chorus inside Christmas – 2017” Hungary (Budapest). Following participation in the competition, the choir received the Grand Prix diploma.
March 6, 2018 participation in the beauty and grace contest “Miss MSLU – 2018”.

11 May 2018 at the XIII International Forum of Youth and Student Choirs “Paparats-kvetka BDU – 2018”.
12 May 2018 award ceremony and gala concert of the XIII International Forum of Youth and Student Choirs “Paparats-kvetka BDU 2018”. Following participation in the forum, the choir received a “Special Diploma” for the stylistic diversity of the repertoire and its emotional performance.
In 2019 he participated in the republican festival of creativity of foreign students “Fest-art.by”. The choir was also awarded a diploma for active participation in the festival.
On 19-20 December 2020 the MSLU student choir “CANTUS JUVENTAE” participated in the “CHRISTMAS INSIDE” International Online Choir Festival.
On March 24, 2021, a joint concert with the participation of the Academic Choir of the Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University. N. A. Dobrolyubov in the framework of the International Choral Assembly “CHORUS OF LINGUISTS”.
