Rubino Chamber Choir was founded in Rovinj (Croatia), in the year 1998, by a group of music enthusiasts, fond of a cappella group singing. Initially, under the conduction of Prof. Sandra Petrović, the choir worked intensively on acqiring the demanding technique of singing the works by master composers of sacred music. The choir soon  attained respectable results and recognition.

Today, Rubino performs renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic and modern music. In addition, the repertoire is enriched by secular music – covers of Croatian pop music, film songs and Istrian melodies.

From the day of its foundation, the choir has consisted of 22 members on average,  whereas conductors of the choir were: Prof. Sandra Petrović (1998-2001), Prof. Janoš Feher (2002-2003), Prof. Aleksandra Orbanić (2004-2007) and Prof. Jelena Mileusnić (2008). The choir has been conducted by Prof. Tatjana Merkl from the year 2009.

Rubino has recorded three audio CD-s: ”Panis Angelicus” (2001) , ”Radujte se narodi” (2004), “Zvona” in 2013.

The choir performs mainly in the area of Rovinj and Istrian Region, although it has also participated in festivals, humanitarian events, concerts and competitions throughout Croatia and abroad (Slovenia, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina). Every year, Rubino performs at various town and religious celebrations, and holds its annual concert in Rovinj. It also initiated the Christmas Festival of Rovinj Choirs and the Rovinj International Choirs Festival Saint Euphemia, which have become traditional, annual festivals in Rovinj.

In year 2011 we won a silver medal on a Christmas and Advent Festival with S.Eben price in Prague and one year later 2012 we went on a Advent and Christmas songs Festival in Bratislava were we won a bronze medal.In year 2013 we won 2 silver medals on IV Krakow Advent and Christman Choir Festival and in a year 2014 we won a golden medal on XII International Competition Chorus Inside Croatia and we were absolute winning in the category of sacred music. 2015 we won 2 silver medals on International Meet Music Competition , Budapest, Hungary.
