The One Voice Choir was formed by the passion shown by some young people for gospel music, especially the acappella and contemporary melodies of Ghana, in 2004. The group’s first unofficial performance was at a youth camp organized by the Odorkor Adventist Youth Society, a group belonging to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. From that moment, One Voice, as it was then called, won the admiration of many other members of the Youth Society, including young women. The choir then grew from a traditional male choir to a choral group of different genders with members of different denominations. Currently the choir has forty (40 members).
Now in its tenth edition, the choir has a total of over 100 performances and concerts. For the Glory of God, the choir released its most important album in April 2011 and also established an education endowment fund to assist bright but needy members and non-members in their formal and informal education. As part of our social responsibility, since 2010 the choir has been performing at the Princess Marie Hospital’s end-of-year party for inpatient children.
The choir has Humphrey Kwaah (0243204578) as leader and Derick Asare Antwi (0249443484) as choirmaster. It has a board of directors/advocacy of 5 members with different backgrounds, chaired by Ms. Abigail Quaye (Head of the Remittance Unit – Bank of Ghana).
