The choir was founded on October 16, 1984 by Ferenc Sapszon with the support of the local government of the city of Budaörs.
Our main goal is to spread the choral culture and cultivate the high quality of the choir. We regularly participate in various local events. At our national and foreign independent concerts and performances, we perform both classical works of Hungarian and foreign musical literature. Our ecclesiastical and profane repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to the present day.
In recent decades we have given concerts in Budaörs, Budapest and surrounding settlements, but we have also sung in Szeged, Târgu Mureş, Cluj-Napoca, Oradea, Tordaszentlászló, some Hungarian settlements in the Highlands, Poland, Germany, Spain and the Republic of Moldova.
Our choir won the “Singing Hungary” award in 1992, the “Concert Choir” Cum Laude in 1995 and the highest “Summa Cum Laude Concert Choir” in 2000 and 2003. In 1996 it received the Public Culture Award of the Pest County Local Government.
The band released a standalone audio cassette in 1994, a CD recording in 1997, 2000, 2004 and 2009 and a concert film in 2010. In 2013 the 43-piece choir took the name of its founding conductor as a tribute.
