The Choir “Doina Codrului” from Lozova village, Straseni district, celebrates this year the honorable age of 114 years since its founding. It is one of the oldest amateur art collectives in Moldova. Since its founding, Lozova choir has been present at most cultural, patriotic or religious festivities, held in the village, in the country and even abroad. In 1962 it was awarded the honorable title “POPULAR CHOIR”, and in 2003 it was awarded the title of “MODEL CHOIR”.
Nowadays, 26 women and16 men are active in the choir. The members of the group are: teachers, educators, medical workers, high school students, pensioners, farmers, etc.
Over the years, the choral formation “Doina Codrului” has been active under the conductor’s wand:
Pavel Dobrobojenco (founder of the choir) – 1908 – 1925;
Andrei Filip – 1926 – 1929;
Ecaterina Marian – 1930 – 1944;
Ion Lozovanu – 1944 – 1954;
Ion Popescu – 1954 – 1974;
Valentin Budilevschi – 1974 – 1976;
Gheorghe Pascaru – 1976 – 1991; 2003 – 2019;
Victor Nevoie – 1992 – 2003;
Ruslan Bardier – 2019 till now.
The connoisseurs of choral art as well as the spectators, who watched the concerts of this choral formation, appreciated the efforts of the Lozovian choristers, their contribution to the spiritual enrichment and the promotion of beauty among their fellows. The members of the choir knew how to keep the unique choral scores received from their predecessors, they managed to enrich it and pass on to their descendants.
At present, “Doina Codrului” from Lozova village is a living and invaluable monument of the intangible heritage of the national culture and deserves an appreciation for its value.

Studies and training:
2015 Bachelor’s degree, Choral Conducting, at “Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts” in Chisinau.
2017 Master in Arts, specialization Choral Conducting, at the “Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts” in Chisinau.
Artistic professional experience:
From 2015 until now a teacher of choral conducting, choir, reading of choral cheats, choral arrangement, choral practice at the Choral Conducting and Singing Department in the “Center of Excellence in artistic education Stefan Neaga”, Chisinau.
Since 2015 Folk music performer, lead Singer of the Folk Music Orchestra “Rapsozii Moldovei” from Chisinau.
2016 – 2019 Choir Conductor – Regent of the Orthodox Church Choir “Sf. Dumitru” from Chisinau.
From 2019 until now, the conductor and leader of “Doina Codrului” Amateur Model Choir from Lozova village, Straseni.
From 2021 until now, being the conductor of the Choir of the Metropolitan Church of Basarabia “Gavril Muzicescu” from Chisinau.
