Biography

It’s been a fantastic and very successful trip so far

The TROUPE is a complete Musical Society *(Music Academy, Choral, Orchestra, Band)*

Started in 2010, as just a group of choristers around *Igando/Ikotun*, Lagos, who were enthusiastic and zealous in knowing more and improving musical knowledge*(rigo notation, vocals, classical singing styles, orchestral instrumentation)*

Training was held only on Saturdays, by the founder and director, *Mr Okeke Chuks Orlando*

He worked tirelessly to prepare, from scratch, these wonderfully dedicated Choristers

Within a year, the results of these trainings began to manifest themselves, as the group had its first program, *A Concert performance of Messiah, by GF Handel*

The group took only 2 months to prepare for this concert, as almost all its members had learned to read the music, sing and play on sight

Subsequently, the group performed several classical oratorios and operas, such as *The Creation – by J. Haydn, Judas Maccabaeus – by GF Handel, Magic Flute – by WA Mozart, Elijah – by F Mendelssohn, Rolling Seasons – by Caleb Simper , Mass in C – by Beethoven,* etc., in his annual concert series tagged *”SINGSPIRATION”* and *”HYMNSPIRATION”*

They were incredible success stories the whole time, as the group was invited separately to *World Choir Olympics*, by the *World Choir Council*, after rigorous screening exercises

The group has also performed in all major Nigerian cities and throughout Africa – *Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Republic of Benin* and beyond Africa – *Singapore*.

The group mainly provides *training for children and adults, sale of all kinds of musical instruments and equipment, supply of professional orchestra/choir for all occasions*, etc.

The group is domiciled in the area of the city of Festac in lagos state, Nigeria
