The women’s choir “Ringel” is an amateur group. Music lovers have been drawn to this “ring”, this circle, for 15 years now.
The choir was created in 1998 to perform wonderful Jewish music, unusual melodic, which can be heard in few places, and some songs are not performed at all in our country.
The choir leader is Galina Mikhailovna Kitovskaya, she has been the choir leader since its inception.
The choir works constantly and fruitfully to find and expand the repertoire. Galina Mikhailovna selects extraordinary works for her repertoire. These include spiritual songs, folk songs, auteur music, and modern Israeli music. The works are performed in Hebrew, Yiddish and Russian. In recent years, the brilliant accompanist Tatyana Borisovna Tokmacheva has been working with the choir.
Every year the “Ringel Choir” improves its skills more and more, setting itself new tasks, taking part in various concerts, festivals and competitions, for which the choir has learned the works of the classical repertoire of composers such as Glinka, Taneyev, Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev, Dargomyzhsky.
“Ringel-Chorus” is known to listeners in Moscow and beyond. He performs in the most diverse and significant places in Moscow and the Moscow region, such as the House of Music, the Novaya Opera, the Rossiya Concert Hall, the State. Library them. Lenin, the Federation of Peace and Agreement, the House of Architects, the M. Tsvetaeva Museum, the Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard, the All-Russian Exhibition Center, in libraries and museums, etc.
In 2004, the team became a graduate of the IV International Competition of Jewish Music, Song and Dance named after L. Solntsa, held in Kazan. “Ringel-Khor” is a winner and diploma winner of 11 international festival and choral competitions “Moscow – the city of the world” (this year they won 2nd place), winner of the international festival “Beauty will save the world” (2005), diplomat of the Moscow International Jewish Festival Krakow (2009), Festival of Jewish Music in Europe (Dresden, 2010). The choir has repeatedly participated in the Moscow Festival of National Cultures “Round Dance of Friendship”.
The team went on tour in several European countries (Austria, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Finland, Czech Republic) and Israel. In June 2013, the choir took part in the “Assembly of Arts Russia-Montenegro Choir Week” festival, where it won 2nd place (“Silver Nightingale”).
