Biography

The “Corale Polifonica Città di Anzio” was founded about 20 years ago and today is composed of over 50 elements.

Her vocal versatility allows her to express herself effectively in a wide repertoire ranging from Opera to Sacred Music, up to folkloric and modern singing.

In recent years the Neronian choir has obtained an ever-increasing notoriety and consideration. In fact, he has established himself, holding numerous performances in his own city, in Rome and in several Italian cities, participating in singing competitions and festivals in Italy and abroad.

Relevant was the performance of Vivaldi’s Gloria, in the magnificent Basilica of S. Andrea della Valle in Rome and that of Orff’s Carmina Burana as part of the 2017 and 2018 summer seasons in the Roman Theatre of Ostia Antica and in the Roman Theatre of Ferento (VT).

Remarkable performances held at St. Peter’s Basilica, also in the presence of Pope Francis on the anniversary of Candlemas, in the Pantheon, for the famous rain of petals in the celebration of Pentecost, in Tivoli in the scenery of the wonderful Villa D’Este, in beautiful basilicas and Roman sanctuaries: St. John Lateran, Trinità dei Monti, St. Ignatius of Loyola, S. Andrea delle Fratte, S. Maria Maggiore, S. Paolo fuori le Mura, S. Maria in Trastevere, S. Lorenzo in Lucina, S. Andrea della Valle, S. Marcello al Corso, San Paolo dentro le Mura, and also, in the Cathedral of Naples, in the Basilica of S. Marco in Venice, in the Abbey of Montecassino, in the Cathedral of Orvieto, in Viterbo, of Assisi, Pompeii, Pisa. Memorable performance inside the St. John Cathedral in Valletta (Malta), European Capital of Culture 2018, unforgettable the one in the basilica of the Sagrada Familia, in Barcelona, for the “Missa International” on September 15, 2019.

Great privilege for the choristers the resumption, live on TV network 4 Mediaset, of the solemnization of the Christmas Mass 2017 from S. Andrea delle Fratte in Rome.

Prestigious concerts held at the Teatro Argentina, the Teatro Olimpico, the Teatro della Conciliazione, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, the Roman Theatre of Ostia Antica, the Roman Theatre of Ferento, the Sferisterio in Macerata, the Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan, the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Busseto, the Teatro D’Annunzio in Pescara, the Teatro Colosseo in Turin, the Auditorium Parco della Musica Sala S. Cecilia e Cavea in Rome, the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo and the Verdi Theatre in Florence. Rewarding the masterful performance of the elderly choir in Valencia, at the Palau de la Musica, the participation in the “Europa Festival Cantat” in Turin, at the “Singing Adriatic Festival” in Croatia and Slovenia with the performance of a concert inside the Postojna Caves, at the “Blu Bar Festival” in Francavilla al mare with the presence of eight thousand spectators.

Unforgettable the concert with the songs of Pink Floyd to welcome Roger Waters when, in 2014, he was awarded honorary citizenship by the Municipality of Anzio.

From 13 to 18 November 2018 the Choir performed at the Teatro Argentina in Rome with the company “Teatro delle Albe” in Ravenna in the show “Va Pensiero”. With the same theater company he took part in May 2019 in Matera, that year European Capital of Culture, in the representation of Dante’s “Purgatory”.

With great pride the “Corale Polifonica Città di Anzio” can include in its curriculum the performance on the prestigious stage of the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo, in December 2019, together with the pink floyd legend group with “Atom Heart Mother”.

A reality, the Corale Polifonica Città di Anzio, always participating in institutional events and events aimed at charitable and solidarity purposes, animated by the desire to become an ever better interpreter, thanks to the enthusiasm and commitment of a heterogeneous group for age and interests and increasingly united by friendship and love for music.

The Directors of the Corale Polifonica Città di Anzio are Maestro David Masci and Maestro Michele Zanoni; the pianist is Maestro Sandra Petriconi.

From 21 July 2021 the President of the “Corale Polifonica Città di Anzio” is the Lawyer Stefano Bertollini.
