Female Polyphonic Choir "Samnium Concentus" CURRICULUM
Within the Molise Polyphonic Association, established in 1984, the "Samnium Concentus" Polyphonic Female Choir was founded in 1989, directed since its foundation by Maestro Guido Messore.
His extensive repertoire includes various styles and forms: from Gregorian Chant to contemporary music.
A particular and increasing attention has been paid to the latter: many composers, in fact, have dedicated and entrusted to the Choir their works in First Performance The main activity of the Association is the organization of the National Polyphonic Review "City of Campobasso" now in its XXIX edition.
Over the years the event has recorded the presence of more than 100 Italian and European choirs for a total of over 2000 choristers.
The Festival has gained the favor of critics and has conquered an increasingly numerous and attentive audience. The concerts record a very large presence of lovers of choral music.
The choir from the beginning has undertaken the study of vocal technique and performance practice following appropriate courses held by distinguished musicians: Walter Marzilli, Steve Woodbury, Giorgio Mazzuccato, Pier Paolo Scattolin, Tito Molisani, etc.). He has participated in numerous national and international choral competitions obtaining the following results: 1st prize at the national competition of San Severo (1994), 2nd prize at the III Mondial Musical Mariano di Frascati (2001), 3rd prize ex-aequo at the national competition of Zagarolo (2004) and special prize "Nuova Musica" for the performance of the piece by a living Italian author considered most interesting by the jury (Invocation) of A. Iafigliola. He has participated in national choral festivals (Rome, Ancona, Bologna, Catania, Salerno, Matera, L'Aquila, Pescara, etc.) and international (Greece, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Croatia, France). During his thirty years of activity he has always received unanimous acclaim from critics and audiences both for his excellent vocal qualities and for the refined elegance of the interpretations. He has recorded choral compositions by G. Messore and A. Iafigliola in: "Kaleidoscope" (1996) and in "Corali a Roma" (1998). He produced a CD of the "X Rassegna Polifonica Nazionale Città di Campobasso" (2001). In 2009, on the occasion of the celebration of the twentieth anniversary, the Choir released the CD "Veni, veni Emmanuel" entirely inspired by Christmas music.
