The Corale San Benedetto is the Parish Choir of the Mother Church of Cetraro, dedicated to the Saint of Norcia.
The current composition was born on July 11, 2017, with the blessing of the parish priest Don Francesco Lauria.
The Choir is heir to a consolidated liturgical musical tradition, in fact many choirs have followed one another in different ways and times.
The current Choir is composed of about 20 elements that offer their commitment and service in each celebration
liturgical of the parish. We all believe that the musical language interprets, emphasizes and gives strength to every theological event by translating it into art and that through songs it opens a door that allows communication with the ways of the Lord.
Singing brings us closer to Christ and arouses emotions in the faithful. The goal of achieving spiritual elevation music can sustain him. In this we believed and these were among the inspiring principles of the constitution of the Choir.
“Tunc vox est apta chori si cor consonat ori” the voice is suitable for the choir if the heart beats in unison with what the mouth pronounces”.
