The Blue Voices, born in Val Vibrata (TE) in the year 2000 constitute an authentic and valid Gospel reality in the Italian music scene. For years promoters of the diffusion of African American music (Spirituals and Gospel) and the profound religious message contained in it, they participate in all the most important Gospel events on the national territory. Their style is Contemporary (Contemporary Gospel) that combines the engaging solo and choral expressiveness with an enthralling instrumental rhythmic dynamism similar to the forms of Rhythm and Blues, Funky, Pop, Jazz. Much attention is therefore paid not only to the construction of a solo and choral vocal style, authentically rooted in the expressiveness of the Black tradition, but also to the elaboration of instrumental arrangements that enrich and support the singing. In the elaboration of the instrumental arrangements, the Director of the Choir M° Rita Grue, has been able to avail himself over the years of the collaboration of two valid artists: Maestro Barbara Pompilii, present since the beginning of the Blue Voices activity as pianist and keyboardist, a reference point of the band in the performances of the choir and, starting from 2004, of the pianist Alessandro Toccaceli who will start an intense collaboration with Maestro Rita Grue in the recording room for research of new sounds and the creation of arrangements designed to express and emphasize in an increasingly effective way, the vitality and dynamism of contemporary Gospel. Thanks to numerous internships and workshops with different American choirs, Blue Voices have made collaborations with the most famous artists of the World Gospel such as: Bob Singleton of the Golden Gospel Singers of Harlem (USA), Keith Moncrief and the Gospel Family of New York, the Rev. Lee Brown of the Freedom Family International Choir and the Minister Maurice Wilkies of Chicago. The group has also performed more than three hundred performances on the national territory including concerts and participation in Choral Reviews with both Italian and foreign artists. The Blue Voices are able to offer a brilliant and engaging show lasting 90 min. about, enriched by choreographies designed to express the joyful participation in the sung prayer. Within the choir there are five soloists with great vocal talent and a strong expressive and interpretative charge. The typical liveliness of the performances is able to create moments of strong aggregation and interaction with the public and therefore their show lends itself to being performed not only during the Christmas period, but at any time of the year for its particular and modern repertoire.
