The Ispera association was founded in 1996 thanks to a group of enthusiasts who met in the premises of the parish.

On 22/06/2001 the cultural association Ispera was officially established with registered and deposited statute that aims to:

• the recovery and enhancement of the folklore, music, singing and poetic tradition of Ollolaese;
• the study and proposition of Mediterranean folk ethnic singing and music; the constitution of a polyphonic choir that can interpret traditional and popular music, songs and dances;
• the recovery and enhancement of socio-cultural, ethnographic, literary, linguistic, historical, scientific and environmental identities through studies, research, meetings, conferences, exhibitions and publications.

The choir’s repertoire ranges from classical polyphony to Sardinian and world folk singing. The most important events organized and in which the choir participated are reported by year.

2001 Performances on several occasions with the orchestra “Benas Ischelios” of Nuoro participating in the “Paths of classical music” organized by the Provincial Administration of Nuoro.

2003 Performance of polyphonic singing with sacred and popular songs at the district houses of Oristano and Alghero (SS). The Christmas concert in Ollolai with sacred and popular songs presented by the Ispera choir and the polyphonic choir of Oliena.

2005 The concert of polyphonic music in the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle in Orani with the choral Ispera of Ollolai and the choral Ilune of Dorgali. The vocal and instrumental Christmas concert in Ollolai presented by the Ispera choir, the Sassari orchestra conducted by maestro Silvio Nappi, the soprano Maria Bonaria Monne and the tenor Sandro Pisanu.

2006 The event “Centrali Aperte” organized by Enel in the village of Lake Cucchinadorza with performance of polyphonic choirs, tenores and dance groups of the municipalities of BIM Taloro.

2007 The event “Boghesde Cabudanne” in Seneghe (OR) with sacred and popular songs presented by the polyphonic choir Ars Antiqua of Seneghe, by Su Cuntrattu Seneghesu of Seneghe and by the choral Ispera. The Christmas concert in Sarule (NU) with sacred and popular songs presented by the Vadore Sini choir of Sarule, the Ispera choir and the Santa Cristina polyphonic choir of Bonarcado (SS). The christmas vocal and instrumental concert in Sestu (SS) with sacred and popular songs presented by the pianist Veronica Pani, the San Giorgio Martire orchestra, the soprano Maria Bonaria Monne, the tenor Alessandro Pisanu and the Ispera choir. Publication with book and music CD of the project “Songs of the popular tradition of Ollolai” with original recordings of lullabies, gosos and traditional ammutos of Ollolai and musical composition for mixed chorales for 4 voices. The Christmas concert in Olzai (NU) with sacred and popular songs presented by the polyphonic choir of Olzai (NU) and the ispera choir. The vocal and instrumental Christmas concert in Dorgali (NU) with sacred and popular songs presented by the Sassari string orchestra conducted by M. Silvio Nappi, soprano Maria Bonaria Monne, alto Lina Fadda, tenor Alessandro Pisanu, baritone Fabrizio Mangantia, polyphonic choral A. Vivaldi by Dorgali and the ispera choir.

2009 The Christmas concert in Tiana (NU) with sacred and popular songs presented by the sant’Elena choir of Tiana, the Ispera choir, the Boghes de Gaudiu ‘onu choir of Gadoni (NU).

2012 The concert “Melodias” in Palmas Arborea (OR) with sacred and popular songs presented by the Palmarese choir, the Ispera choir, the Sos de Santu Matteu choir of Bono (SS) and the Santa Lucia choir of Serri (CA). The Christmas concert in Ollolai with sacred and popular songs presented by the Ispera choir, the Sant,Elena choir of Tiana (NU) and the polyphonic choir of Bortigali (NU).

2017 The Epiphany concert in Ollolai with sacred and popular songs presented by the Ispera choir, the Prendas choir of Mamoiada and the Palmarese choir of Palmas Arborea. Performance of the Ispera choir in Oniferi on the occasion of the presentation of the book “Carlo Felice e i Tiranni Sabaudi” by Francesco Casula.

2018 The Epiphany concert in Ollolai with sacred and popular songs presented by the Ispera choir, the Armonicamente di Orani choir and the Gusana choir of Gavoi. Presentation in Ollolai of the Magnificat Mass in Latin for mixed choir for four voices composed by M. Maria Chiara Piras and proposed to choirs gathered by the Ispera choir together with the Carmina et Cantores choir of Norbello, the San Teodoro choir of Paulilatino and the Sant’Elena choir of Tiana, at the piano Francesco Scrementi. Presentation of the Magnificat Mass of M. Maria Chiara Piras in the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Oristano proposed to choirs gathered by the Ispera choir together with the Carmina et Cantores choir of Norbello, the San Teodoro choir of Paulilatino and the Sant’Elena choir of Tiana, the piano Francesco Scrementi. The event “Barbagia in Piazza” organized in Piazza Marconi in Ollolai with a performance by the Ispera choir. Presentation of the Magnificat Mass of M. Maria Chiara Piras in the Parish Church of San Teodoro in Paulilatino proposed to choirs gathered by the Ispera choir together with the Carmina et Cantores choir of Norbello, the San Teodoro choir of Paulilatino and the Sant’Elena choir of Tiana, the piano Francesco Scrementi. The Christmas concert in Mamoiada with sacred and popular songs presented by the Prendas choir of Mamoiada and the Ispera choir. The Christmas concert in Oliena with sacred and popular songs presented by the choir of Oliena, the choir Baronia di Torpè and the choral Ispera.

2019 The Christmas concert in Bortigali with sacred and popular songs presented by the choral of Bortigali, the choral Ars Antiqua of Seneghe, the Tenor Santu Padre of Bortigali and the choral Ispera. The Epiphany concert in Ollolai with sacred and popular songs presented by the Ispera choir, the Bortigali choir and the Oliena choir. Presentation of the Magnificat Mass of M. Maria Chiara Piras in Norbelloon the occasion of the event “Radici–Racconti di vicinato a Norbello”, proposed to choirs gathered by the Ispera choir together with the Carmina et Cantores choir of Norbello, the San Teodoro choir of Paulilatino and the Sant’Elena choir of Tiana, the piano Francesco Scrementi. Performance of the Ispera choir on the occasion of the traveling music festival “Tra Mare, Stelle e Magia” together with the Ensemble Academiaa Ollolai in the Church of San Michele Arcangelo. The event “Singing under the stars” in Gonnosfanadigaorganized by the Polyphonic Santa Barbara of Gonnosfanadiga with the participation of the polyphonic choir S’Ispera. Execution of the Magnificat Mass of M. Maria Chiara Piras in Cagliari at the Chapel of the Asilo della Marina. Participation in the choral competition “Nuoro patria dei cori” at the Teatro Eliseo in Nuoro.
