The Accademia Choir was founded in January 2008 and debuted in September of the same year with the performance in Pescara of Beethoven’s IX Symphony, gathering unanimous consensus and great public success. Since then, the musical activity of the team has not known setbacks. In fact, there have been memorable concerts abroad (Solothurn and Stuttgart) and performances of important and demanding compositions such as A’s Misa Criolla. Ramirez, the Glory of J. Rutter, the Second Symphony of G. Mahler (the latter in collaboration with the Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte di Montepulciano, directed by Maestro Roland Boer), the Mass in C minor KV 427 by W. A. Mozart (performed in Palermo under the direction of Maestro Hubert Soudant), Puccini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana.
The team has also ventured into compositions in First Performance Absolute, such as Qoelet by G. Vital, also demonstrating great versatility in dealing with completely different repertoires. He regularly performs in seasons of important institutions such as the Società del Teatro e della Musica L. Barbara of Pescara, the Camerata Musicale sulmonese, the Teatro dei Marsi of Avezzano and the Teatro Ventidio of Ascoli Piceno.
The permanent director of the Academy Choir is Maestro Pasquale Veleno.
