In 2012, on the occasion of the first edition of Notturno in Fiore, a summer revival of the parade of the winning float of the Festa del Narciso, some Rocchigiani who had participated in the choirs of Rocca di Mezzo, a constant and characterizing presence of the Festival, especially in the 50s and 60s, were found. From this meeting and impromptu performance came the idea of rebuilding the Choir of Rocca di Mezzo, for the recovery and preservation of ancient songs, born on the occasion of the Festival, along with other motifs belonging to the local popular tradition. The purpose of the choir was and has remained the aggregation and living together, welcoming the adhesion of all those who had motivation and vocation. The project could not have taken shape, and above all soul, without the precious artistic, organizational and musical direction of the Choir Master, Isabella Aromatario, and the assiduous collaboration of accordionist Alfredo Capri. The Choir presents a repertoire based mainly on the search for traditional songs composed by poets and musicians of Rocca di Mezzo. These are flanked by the most famous motifs of the Abruzzo folk tradition, some popular songs from other Italian regions and Christmas carols. In April 2018, the Associazione Corale il Narciso recorded its first CD entitled “… from Corri to Coro”.
