The polyphonic choir “Dolce è sentire” was born in 2016 on the initiative of Fra’ Nicola Gildi, then friar guardian of the Convent of Sant’Antonio da Padova in Teano (Ce). It brings together professionals and music lovers of all ages and has as its primary purpose the sharing of everything beautiful and good that music can create: emotions, growth, constructive experiences, being together. Over time the choir has deepened different musical genres, ranging from the liturgical to the profane and has built a vast repertoire, combining in harmony the great authors and classical composers with the most recent and innovative ones. From its birth until today “Dolce è sentire” has animated the liturgical celebrations of all kinds that have taken place in the Sanctuary where it is located, a destination for numerous pilgrimages and a place of worship much loved by the population, has given life to concerts appreciated by the public in which it has combined various arts such as music, dance and poetry and experimented with the virtual choir as an alternative method of musical activity. The group has always been open to twinning and exchanges with other realities of the cultural landscape of Caserta that have positively enriched the participants. A very heartfelt and valid experience for the precious contribution in terms of deepening the ministry that the choir covers for the liturgy, was the presence at the III Meeting of the choirs in the Vatican, which took place in 2018.
The director of the choir, Linda Verdolotti, is passionate about music in its most general sense. She studied piano privately for ten years and then devoted herself to the liturgical organ. He is still organist of the Teanese Sanctuary and takes care of the preparation of the choristers on the occasion of the various musical initiatives. In addition, the three-year course of Liturgical Music On-line organized by the Liturgical Office of the CEI is about to end and aims to further form itself in this area.
