The Incanto Teatino Choir, formerly coro Emozioni Teatine, was founded in 2005 in Torrevecchia Teatina by the will of some choristers with a common passion for singing. In a short time he achieved unexpected successes, arousing the interest of the public and experts, distinguishing himself for the quality and originality of the repertoire, which ranges from classical (Mozart, Haydn, Bach), to Italian folk, always preserving the polyphonic style. He participates in the Theatrical review of the “Songs of the Passion” in Chieti, at the award ceremony of the National Competition “Lu ramajette”, of Francavilla al Mare (Ch). He performs at the Michetti Museum always in Francavilla, on important cultural occasions such as international journalism and painting awards, carving out significant cultural moments, which arouse the interest of the press. In December 2008 it ranked 2nd at the National Competition “Madonna del Ponte”, in Lanciano and in 2009, the Province of Pescara selected and chose the Incanto Teatino Choir, for the inauguration of the Monument of the Fallen of Nassyria, obtaining the consent of the civil and military authorities. Relevant in 2010 are the participation in the XXXI International Festival of Polyphony of Montefiore dell’ Aso (AP) and the Meeteng of the Abruzzese Chorality in Umbria. In addition to the polyphonic repertoire, the Choir also performs with repertoire and folk costumes gathering appreciation for the high quality that distinguishes it from the usual panorama of folklore: in May 2011 it performs in the Cantamaggio Ternano on the occasion of the International Folklore Festival in Terni, Umbria. The choir is directed by Maestro Anna Tilde D’Anastasio. The young Aurora Merciaro collaborates on the piano.
