The Choir of Villabate “Annamaria Pitarresi Alaimo” was born in 2010 from an idea of Caterina Vitale and Maestro Simone Alaimo.
The Choir was named after Annamaria Pitarresi Alaimo as a reference figure for the choral and musical history of Villabate… for 63 years Chapel Teacher of the Villabatesi parishes and founder of 7 choirs, as well as author of sacred music related to the Passion and other important religious moments.
The Director of the choir is Maestro SIMONE ALAIMO, an internationally renowned opera singer and one of the most versatile and versatile men of culture and entertainment on the Italian scene.
Maestro Alaimo has signed various prose and opera directions, including Don Giovanni (Ancient Theatre of Taormina), Don Pasquale (Teatro Bellini of Catania), the Barber of Seville (Teatro Pirandello of Agrigento), Elisir d’Amore, Traviata, Nozze di Figaro (Linguaglossa).
The Corale di Villabate is composed of over 40 elements and offers a rich repertoire consisting of over 125 pieces including popular songs, lyrics, operetta and religious songs.
Since its foundation, the collective has performed in 150 concerts held in the most important Sicilian locations.
