SILESIAN CHAMBER CHOIR AD LIBITUM/ Śląski Chór Kameralny „Ad libitum” a band with passion, a choir for special tasks, which was founded in 1999. The members live in various towns in Silesia, several dozen kilometers away, and that’s why they call themselves the “Silesian band”. “Ad libitum” choir is known for taking up interesting musical challenges, e.g. from large vocal-instrumental forms to multimedia shows with the participation of the choir, it has premiered compositions by Polish and foreign composers many times. The ensemble has given concerts in the concert halls of the Polish National Radio Orchestra, the National Forum of Music, the State Philharmonic and Opera in Košice (Slovakia), the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. Ad libitum has worked with leading artists of the Polish and European classical, opera and entertainment scenes ( e.g.. the world’s most famous tenor Andrea Bocelli, Roberto Alagna, Aleksandra Kurzak, Krzesimir Dębski, Garou)
Choir performed in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Russia, Germany, Georgia, Switzerland, Netherlands, Thailand, South Korea, Spain, Philippinnes, Gibraltar and Philippines.
It participated in dozens of festivals and competitions in the country and abroad, winning about 40 prestigious awards in international competitions around the world, recorded programs for Polish Radio, TVP and Polsat Television, works as a choir session band, and has released 8 original CDs.
The founder, conductor and manager of the ensemble is PROF. DR HAB. IZABELLA ZIELECKA-PANEK – professor of musical arts, choirmaster, conductor, professor at the Institute of Music Arts of the University of Silesia, long-term conductor of the Representative Choir of the University of Silesia Harmonia, Silesian Chamber Choir Ad libitum, Singing Ensemble KGW Bełszniczanki, as well as an instructor of physical recreation specializing in horse riding, breeder Anglo-Arabian horses. Her achievements include 16 CDs, winning about 75 prestigious awards in international competitions around the world over 1000 concerts and many a cappella choral works, as well as over 50 oratorios and cantata works. Promoter and reviewer in doctoral, postdoctoral and professorial dissertations. Originator and Director of the International Music Festival. Józef Świder in Cieszyn and the Music Without Borders International Festival in Wodzisław Śląski. President of the Music Without Borders Foundation.
