The Szczecin Children’s Choir “SŁOWIKI” was founded in 1960. It has visited all continents giving concerts in Europe and the world: in Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, France, Italy, Spain, Israel, South Africa, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, USA. He has won numerous prizes in international and national competitions and festivals:
– 2nd place at the Vilnius International Festival of Sacred Music (Lithuania) – 2018
– Golden Diploma at the “Ars Liturgica” National Competition in Gniezno – 2018
– Diapason d’oro at the National Competition of Children’s and Youth Choirs in Bydgoszcz – 2019
– Minister of Culture and National Heritage Cup at OKCDiM in Bydgoszcz – 2019
– Grand Prize at the International Festival of Sacred and Passionate Music in Szczecin – 2019
– Gold Diploma at the Rimini International Choral Festival – 2019
– Silver diploma at the Barczewo International Choral Song Festival – 2021
– Golden Band at the Szczecin International Festival of Sacred and Passionate Music – 2022
– 2nd place at the National Festival of Religious Singing in Strzepcz – 2022
The Choir performed as a male ensemble for several years. The repertoire includes works of sacred and folk music, mainly by Polish composers, as well as well-known hits from folk music. The choir also participated in the following opera performances: Carmen – G. Bizet, La Bohème and Tosca – V. Puccini, King Roger – K. Szymanowski and in large vocal and instrumental forms: Requiem Aeternam – M. Jasiński, War Requiem – B Britten, Hodie (Christmas Cantata) – R.V. Williams.
