The Uremu Project choir was born in 2017 with maestro Oscar Rodríguez in the second year of our Organization. It began to develop under the tutelage of teacher Lila Villalobos in 2018 and since then it has participated in multiple presentations in San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa. This year, teacher Lila has been working with the Schola Cantorum methodology with choirs from the Guaymuras, López Arellano, Satélite and Cabañas sectors.
Likewise, the choir was opened in the Rivera Hernández sector. This new group of students came about when we met the Paso a Paso Organization and its great initiative to support 120 children in the sector. It was like this when we unified forces to create the choir for children and adolescents which began this July with 30 students who take their choral training with teacher Ana Rodríguez. In the same way, teacher Ana took the direction of the choir that teacher Iris Mejía attended in the Felipe Zelaya sector in the month of August to start the choral method taught by the Schola Cantorum under the responsibility of teacher José Maria Sciutto in both sectors.
