Choral Conducting Techniques

The Masterclass is aimed at choir directors who want to address the following topics:

Conducting techniques, gestures, intonation and choral sound, vocality, rehearsal management, analysis of the score and execution, all topics on which the training course will be developed.

The training course is divided into 14 hours of work divided into 04 and 05 December 2021 at the deconsecrated Church of San Domenico (Oristano).

The lessons and exercises will take place both individually and collectively and the students will have the opportunity to alternate also in the direction of the laboratory choir with the execution of some pieces whose scores will be provided before the beginning of the course.

Participants will be issued a valid certificate for obtaining training credits.

Pasquale Poison

Conductor, pianist and choir director, he trained at the school of Marcello Bufalini and Donato Renzetti for conducting, Maria Michelini and Nazzareno Carusi for piano, Edgar Alandia for composition. As a conductor he carries out an impressive activity that, in addition to an intense presence in the programming of the most important regional symphonic institutions, over the years has seen him engaged with the main repertoire works on stages all over the world: from Boston to Beijing, from Mexico City to Toronto, from Miami to Dakar, from Caracas to Monterrey, passing of course through the main Italian and European cities, including Paris, Prague, Edinburgh, Kiev, Krakow, Stuttgart. Among the orchestras conducted, the SBS Radio and Television Youth Symphony Orchestra of Sydney, the Symphony Orchestra B stand out. Maderna, the Silvestre Revueltas Symphony Orchestra, the Chernivetsk Philarmony Symphonic in Lviv, the Symphony Orchestra of China National Opera and Dance Drama Theatre, the Chamber Orchestra de Bellas Artes, the South Beach Chamber Ensemble in Miami, the Kalisz and Krakow Philharmonic Orchestras. He regularly holds seminars and masterclasses for Barry University in Miami, Florida. Since 2016 he has been the President of the Artistic Commission of the International Festivals “Chorus Inside”. In 2018 he was the President of the Association CORI D’ABRUZZO CHORUS INSIDE and is currently President of the Artistic Commission of the Federation of Italian Choirs Chorus Inside.
