Biography

The Choir was born on March 31, 2007, on the occasion of the World Day of Diocesan Youth and brings together young people from different parishes and realities (associations, movements, …) of the Diocese of Rimini.
It carries out the service of animation, through singing, of the various moments and / or celebrations that the Diocese proposes to us, giving priority to the services inherent in Youth Ministry.
The name of the Choir “Megàles Phonès – Μεγάλης φωνής” originates from the very recurrent expression in the biblical texts (Ps 59:16; Lk 1:42; Lk 8:54; Lk 23:46; Jn 11:43; Mt 27:46; Rev 5:12) to describe Jesus’ tone of voice, in episodes ranging from the Resurrection of Lazarus to when, on the Cross, he addresses God with the cry: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”.
The repertoire proposed by the collective is mainly directed towards the performance of contemporary liturgical music and songs that re-arranged in a modern key, can better respond to the musical sensitivity of young people and favor the participation of assemblies, whose texts have a strong biblical foundation.
