The folk group “Sirente” was born in 1972 from the passion of some young people for the popular traditions related to singing and dancing, and from the desire to rediscover the ancient traditions of village life. Since its debut, more than forty years, the choir has become a cultural reference point for the whole region. We remember the numerous participations in the Europeade of Folklore in different European cities, as well as many national and international events.

The latest prestigious award is the GOLDEN DIPLOMA for first place – “Traditional Singing” category – in the International Competition “Chorus Inside Summer” held at the Teatro Marrucino in Chieti in June 2018.

The Group, composed of about 35 members, performs songs and dances accompanied by the typical instruments of Abruzzo Folklore: accordion, “ddu botte”, tambourine and “puti puti”.
