Biography

Choir “Cantabile” was created in September 2014. The founder and conductor of the choir is Ewa Maleńczyk. From the beginning of its existence, the choir participates in the Polish Choir Development Program “Choir Academy – Singing Poland” which brings together about 200 choirs from all over Poland. As a one of the distinguished choirs of this program, the choir was invited to participate during final concerts of the various editions of “Singing Poland”. Thanks to it, the choir performed with a symphonic orchestra in Szczecin in 2015 or during the concerts closing the artistic season of the National Forum of Music in 2017 and 2018, during which music works of G. Mahler “Second Symphony” or C. Orff’s “Carmina Burana” were performed. The “Cantabile” choir has also been successful at various choir competitions, where it has been awarded with “The Golden Bands”. In 2017, at the National A’cappella Choir Competition in Bydgoszcz, the choir won the “Golden Tunning – Fork” and the special prize of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivode “.

The choir is also an active performer. It gives concerts both in the country and abroad, just to mention Oxford and Coventry (GB), Brussels (B) or Rockenhausen an Holtzminden (D).
