biography

The ensemble was founded in 2009 as a parish choir at the Church of the Kholm Icon of the Mother of God in Lutsk (Volyn Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church).
Since 2011, Kateryna Tokalo has been the leader and inspirer of the development of the CREDO choir. She became the person who broadened the creative horizons of the group and took it beyond the established stereotypes about the church choir.
The Sredo Chamber Choir has more than twenty members who are parishioners of the church, who are radically different in age and professional activity, but united by a great love of choral singing and service. We strive for professional, elegant singing, we are looking for different forms and methods of work to achieve the best reproduction of masterpieces of choral music.
The band took part in the festivals “The Annunciation of Volyn”, “Christmas Songs”, “Easter Bells” (Lviv), “Today is Born of a Virgin” (Lviv), “Pentecost” (Kyiv), “Echo of Christmas” (UGCC), “Farewell to the Carol” (Lviv), festival-competition – “You did not go out, the star is clear from Kholm Mountain”, where he won the Grand Prix (2014), the highest achievement of the choir – winning the second prize in the IX All-Ukrainian M. Leontovych Choral Competition in Kyiv (2021). In December 2021 the ensemble received the Mykola Leontovych State Prize (Vinnytsia Regional Council). M. Leontovich (2021), winner of the State Prize.
