The Cultural-Musical Association of the choir of the Cathedral of Alessandria 'CAPPELLA ALEXANDRINA' was founded in 1990, with a dual purpose: to animate the pontificals presided over by the Bishop in the cathedral and to be active in the Piedmontese territory by organizing and participating in events of both musical, cultural and social nature.
The choir has been directed since 2014 by the maestro di cappella Pier Francesco Cervino and accompanied by the titular organist of the Cathedral of Alessandria Prof. Pasquale Spiniello, has 22 choristers and its repertoire, mainly sacred, ranges from Gregorian chant to contemporary.
In his activity he has participated in several musical competitions and exhibitions, among them: the "II international choral singing competition for musical chapels of churches and cathedrals", the "International Music Competition", the "II international choral group competition L. Perosi", without failing to attend courses in technique and choral vocality such as "Festa insieme" and "Sotto a chi canta".
In 2016 he performed at the Teatro Sociale in Valenza (Al) with the Orchestra of the Liceo musicale "Plana" of Alessandria, and in collaboration with the ME association. DEA section of Alessandria, participated in the "Chorus-Contest 2016" in Milan.
