During the seventies the staff of the Choir was outlined in such a way as to be able to compete with other Choirs at regional level, so much so that on the occasion of a regional review for choirs only, held in Palermo, the Choir of the Mother Church won first place.
In the eighties he participated in Syracuse in a diocesan festival reserved for choirs, with the song “Gloria” by Gen Rosso, winning, once again, the first place, thus giving life to a series of singing performances outside his municipality.
An activity that enriches the experience of the Choir that does not forget to animate the Eucharistic celebrations of its parish, in particular for Christmas, organizing, as is customary, a recital with Christmas songs and the theatrical representation of Holy Christmas;
Same thing for Holy Easter, the Choir animates the Eucharistic Liturgy of the entire Holy Week.
The presence of the Choir has never been lacking in the other liturgical celebrations that take place in the parish: religious festivals; First Communion; confirmation; some marriage and baptism.
On November 6, 1994, on the occasion of the Consecration of the Shrine – Basilica dedicated to Our Lady of Tears, in Syracuse, by Blessed Pope John Paul, the Parish Choir of Canicattini Bagni participates in the Liturgical Concelebration broadcast live on TV.
In Christmas 1999 he was the protagonist, in the Mother Church, of a Christmas Concert with the Canicattini Bagni Band and a Christmas Concert with the City of Melilli Musical Band, held in the Basilica of San Sebastiano in Melilli;
On 4 April 2000 he performed in the Cathedral of Syracuse during a priestly ordination.
On June 29, 2001, the Choir was present at the Eucharistic Concelebration presided over by the Archbishop of Syracuse, Mgr. Giuseppe Costanzo, for the 50th anniversary of the priestly ordination of the parish priest of the Mother Church, Don Rosario Pitruzzello.
The Choir still performs in the three national days, from October 29 to October 31, 2010, on the occasion of the meeting and the feast of the ACR and the Very Young of Catholic Action, “There is more. Let’s grow up together.”
On October 30, he did so in St. Peter’s Square in the presence of Pope Benedict XVI.
Without prejudice to the fixed commitment in the Parish, in 2010 he began a relationship of collaboration, which still lasts, with the children of the Disabled Day Center of the Municipality on the occasion of Christmas. A relationship that goes beyond “formal” collaboration or singing, but is made of esteem and mutual help.
Collaboration, however, that in Christmas 2010 saw the Choir and the Day Center for the Disabled perform in the Mother Church in a Concert of Christmas Carols. The experience was repeated for Holy Easter.
On June 29, 2011, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the priestly ordination of the parish priest of the Mother Church, Don Rosario Pitruzzello, the parish choir of “Santa Maria degli Angeli” is still active during the Eucharistic Concelebration presided over by the Archbishop of Syracuse, Mgr. Salvatore Pappalardo.
Activity that continues for Christmas with a performance with the Band “Città di Canicattini Bagni” always in the Mother Church.
On July 29, 2013, on the occasion of the funeral rite concelebrated by Archbishop Mons. Salvatore Pappalardo for the death of the parish priest of the Mother Church, Don Rosario Pitruzzello, the Choir performs the songs planned for the sad event.
For some years, finally, the Traffic Police of Syracuse, invites the Parish Choir of “Santa Maria degli Angeli” to animate the Holy Mass of Christmas and Easter. A partnership that has now become a tradition that is repeated every year.
In all these years, the Choir, which has maintained its composition unchanged, from children to adults, has never been lacking in the liturgical celebrations that take place in the parish.
