Corale Discàntica (Cesole – MN) conducted by Maestro Michael Guastalla, is composed of 28 elements and deals with the great repertoire of sacred and profane classical polyphony, Italian and European. Among the latest events we remember the important and consolidated collaborations with the Choral Academy "Teleion" (Poggio Rusco – Mn), with the Female Chamber Choir "Poulenc" (Pegognaga – Mn), with the MuisCaesena Academy (Cesena) for "Voci in maschera" I and II edition, Choral "Santa Cecilia" of Bareggia (Monza), Chamber Choir "Orlando di Lasso". In June 2016 he organized "Sprezzatura e Maraviglia" at the fifteenth-century residence of Corte Castiglioni in Casatico (Mn). In June 2017 and 2018 he took part in the exhibition "l'Incanto a Palazzo" in the Palazzo Ducale in Mantua. In October 2017 he is a guest of the Festival "Note d'autore" in Piadena (Cr). In December 2017 he started an important collaboration with the "Banda Musicale di Gazoldo degli Ippoliti" directed by Maestro Luca Pettinato, staging in 2019 the event "The Great War" on the occasion of the anniversary of the First World War. He is also a guest of prestigious musical chapels: Cathedral of Modena, Basilica of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari in Venice, Abbey of Novacella, Sanctuary of the Consolata of Turin, Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio in Milan and at the Cathedral of Mantua and the Palatine Basilica of Santa Barbara (Mn). In synergy with the guitarist M° Francesco Bonfà, since 2016 he has been dealing with pages of the madrigal and vocal chamber repertoire, performing in prestigious places such as Palazzo Te in Mantua, Palazzo Ghini in Cesena, Palazzo Ducale in Mantua, Teatro all'Antica in Sabbioneta and Biblioteca Malatestiana in Cesena. In May 2019 he was a guest of the Musical Chapel of the Basilica of Weingarten (Germany), together with the organist Federico Franzoni, in collaboration with the Diocese of Mantua, proposing the "Chapel Mass" 1641 from the "Moral and Spiritual Forest" by Claudio Monteverdi. Upcoming engagements: in collaboration with the Chamber Choir "Orlando di Lasso" he is working on a project on the composer French Marc-Antoine Charpentier (1634 – 1704).
Michael Guastalla, began his studies as an instrumentalist at the Conservatory of Mantua, under the guidance of the masters Carlo Fabiano, Giorgio Barbolini, Luigi Ripamonti. In 2009 he began his composition studies under the guidance of Maestro Paolo Perezzani, a former student of Salvatore Sciarrino, at the Conservatory of Mantua, graduating with honors. In 2019 he obtained with honors the II level degree in Prepolyphony at the Conservatory of Turin under the guidance of Maestro Fulvio Rampi. As a composer he participates in some contemporary music festivals in Mantua, Bolzano and Parma. With one of his pieces for orchestra selected by the Conservatory of Mantua, he participated in May 2015 in the first "Claudio Abbado" Competition held at the Conservatory of Milan. Since 2012 he has been director of the Corale Discàntica, he also founded and directs the Schola Gregoriana of Mantua with which he provides liturgical-musical service during the Pontifical celebrations in the Cathedral of Mantua in collaboration with the diocesan liturgical office. He collaborates permanently with the Chamber Choir "Orlando di Lasso" (Mn) together with Maestro Stefano Roncaia. Since 2019 he has been an artistic collaborator and teacher of the Gregorian Chant School promoted by Aerco which takes place from November to May and of the annual Gregorian Chant Summer Course. Since 2018 he has been President of the music school "Accademia Musicale Harmonica".
