Biography

The “GRUPPO FOLK LA FONTANA” Città di Cupello was founded in April 2007 and consists of about 30 elements. During the year 2007 the Group performed eighteen concerts; he completed a Cultural Exchange with the KAMERALNY choir directed by maestro JERZY AUGUSTYNSKI, from the City of STALOWA WOLA (POLAND) where he performed in four important concerts. The LA FONTANA GROUP was born for the interest of Mr. Ialacci Rocco who plays the role of President and Master in the group. The Group was born to recall the traditions of Abruzzo just like in past years when it was sung in the fields to alleviate the fatigue of work. The songs are structured in two voices. The group also has a program to perform Christmas concerts. In 2008 the “GRUPPO FOLK LA FONTANA” realized a cultural exchange with a Group of Romanian Dancers of the City Of Gherla. In 2009 and 2010 he performed in various events, especially in Choir Festivals held throughout Abruzzo and hosted a choir of the City of Budapest. In 2011 he organized several events and realized the conclusion of the cultural exchange with the City of Budapest Hungary. On 21 and 22 May 2011 the La Fontana Choir organized a Meeting in Cupello with groups from: England, Denmark, Romania, Portugal, France, Turkey and the City of Lecce as well as having performed at the auditorium of the Conservatory of Lecce.
