The Alpine Choir “Monte Castel” was founded in 1987 on the initiative of the local “Gruppo Alpini” with the aim of cheering up the events organized by it and since then it has gradually assumed more and more its own physiognomy by undertaking its own activity.
Currently the choir is composed of 36 elements that, in a spirit of fraternal friendship, unites enthusiasts of different ages and backgrounds around the common love for folk singing.
The commitment and spirit that animate the Choir are aimed at keeping the song alive as an expression of feelings, moods and history that only music with its sounds and its melody can revive in our hearts, recovering and making a memory flourish again that cannot be lost.
It should be remembered that last year the Alpine Choir “Monte Castel” celebrated its first twenty years of life, and to honor the event, it was decided to fix in memory a collection of the most significant songs sung by the choir with the realization of its first C.D. entitled “The mountain in… cantata”.
The Alpine Choir “Monte Castel” in its course has had the opportunity to perform in numerous concerts and festivals in the Triveneto and in various parts of Italy, obtaining flattering results.
The repertoire is for the most part of the alpine-popular type, and the guide of the choir is entrusted to the M°. Lino Torresan who, with patient and loving commitment and balanced determination, manages to make the choir itself express the immediacy, genuineness and simplicity of its imprint and choral personality.
The choir organizes two choral festivals annually, in the period of June-July with a review of popular songs and in December at the Cathedral of Crespano with the now traditional “Christmas Concert”.
