Biography

The Choir “St. Francis of Assisi” of Presinaci, was born in 1986 during a pilgrimage, inspired by the foundress, Mrs. Illuminata Zappino, in front of the Tomb of the Poverello of Assisi and from here the dedication to the Saint.

The love for sacred singing nourished by the choristers of yesterday and today and the path of musical growth under the skilful and patient guidance of various masters, have contributed to building the thirty years of the history of the Choir.

Its repertoire is composed exclusively of Sacred Songs as it was born as a Parish Choir, over the years, under the skilful guidance of Maestro FRANCESCO ARENA the Choir grows musically and enriches its repertoire with new polyphonic pieces.

The St. Francis of Assisi Choir currently has 16 members and for fifteen years has been directed by Maestro Francesco Arena.

The Choir of St. Francis of Assisi, in recent years has participated in several events, remember: in 2011 at the Sacred Oratory “Francesco Servo Di Dio” L ‘Aquila that reached the Sun by Vincenzo Laganà.

in 2012 at the IV Diocesan Meeting “Canticum Novum” of the Diocesan Polyphonic Choirs. in 2015 at the Oratory on the Passion and Death of Jesus “In Hoc Passionis Tempore” – by Antonio. Roman.
