The history of the folk choir “Rocca Di Cambio” begins at the end of the 70s when a group of “rocchicagnesi”, for the desire to be together and moved by the passion for music, begins rehearsals. Soon this first nucleus was joined by voices from all over the Altipiano delle Rocche and in 1982 the constitution of the choir was formalized with a regular notarial deed.
The natural generational change and the sad events of the earthquake of 06/04/2009 have numbed not a little the enthusiasm but the passion, never dormant, led in 2011 to the rebirth of the choir. In these years of life the group, directed over time by illustrious professionals (Pino Pignatelli, Andrej Hanzelewicz, Nicolino Rosati, Isabella Aromatario, Raffaello Angelini and in a short period Vincenzo Vivio), has participated in numerous editions of the Europeade of European popular culture, in folklore festivals including “Settembrata Abruzzese” and “Tanto per cantare”, to radio-television competitions performing in different foreign countries (France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Denmark) in various regions of Italy (Umbria, Tuscany, Puglia, Lazio, Campania, Liguria, Piedmont), in large Italian cities and in small villages bringing everywhere the warmth and sympathy of the people of Abruzzo.
To his credit he also has a record release entitled “La neve a la muntagne… ” and participation in RAI-TV broadcasts. Currently the choir, directed by maestro Alberto Martinelli, hosts about thirty choristers. The position of President is Dr. Marco Sulpizio.
