The Polyphonic Choir “Octava Dies”, of the Basilica Concattedrale Santa Maria delle Grazie of Pescina (AQ), directed by Maestro Mario Di Legge, was officially born in Pescina in 2012, but the team has existed since July 2010, following the merger of the choral formations of the two parishes of the country: that of “Santa Maria delle Grazie” and that of “San Giuseppe”. The union took place on the occasion of the arrival of the remains of St. Celestine V in the diocese of the Marsi, in order to animate in the best way the liturgical celebrations officiated in the week of stay of the body of the Saint in Pescina. The Choir boasts its presence in several important celebrations of the diocese of marsi such as the already mentioned for the arrival of St. Celestine V in 2010 and in the same year the solemn Mass on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the death of the beloved Santina Campana. In 2011 he animated, together with other diocesan choirs, the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of the Marsi of Avezzano, the celebrations of the Patron Saint “San Berardo”, in the presence of the Cardinal of Palermo S.Emm. Paolo Romeo, and a Live Mass on Radio Maria. In 2012 he organized the 1st “Christmas Festival of Polyphonic Choirs” and the success encouraged the organization of the 2nd edition in 2014. On December 20, 2015 the Choir “Octava Dies” sings during the Solemn Mass on the occasion of the opening of the Holy Door at the Co-Cathedral of the Marsi “Santa Maria delle Grazie”. On April 29, 2016 he performed for the first time in the theater, with the concert “Per una manciata di musica” on the occasion of the XX° edition of the International Prize “I. Silone”, together with the mandolin player Francesco Mammola. On 17 June 2016 he performed at the church of the Sacred Heart of Celano on the occasion of the IV edition of the “Giuseppe Corsi” Prize in the city of Celano; on August 29, 2016 he held a charity concert for the victims of the Amatrice earthquake at the cloister of the Teatro San Francesco in Pescina. On 2-3-4 December 2016 she is the main organizer of the events on the occasion of the elevation to basilica of the Co-Cathedral of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Pescina: on 3 December she organizes the 3rd edition of the “Rassegna di Corali Polifoniche”, on 4 December she animates a solemn Holy Mass in the presence of Cardinal Giuseppe Bertello, Governor of Vatican City.
