The Res Nova Polyphonic Choir of Terralba began its activity in 1991.
He has realized numerous concerts and exhibitions in the various centers of the Province, proposing a repertoire of different eras and nationalities ranging from sacred to profane and popular music.
The activity of the polyphonic is aimed at raising awareness of the environment to musical culture, in particular to the choral one; the promotion of events in favor of humanitarian associations, such as Admo, Avis, Caritas, the “Silvia libera” Committee, etc …
In 1994 he conceived, and continues to organize a choral festival called “Choral review of Christmas carols”, which over the years has had the participation of the best choirs of the region and several choirs of the peninsula, such as the vocal group “Mezzo sotto” of Celle Ligure, “Cantus firmus” of Mondovì, “Armonioso incanto” of Perugina; from Hungary the prestigious vocal groups “Unicum laude” and “Banchieri Singers” and from Germany the “Calmus Ensemble”. Finally, for several years the choir has been collaborating with the instrumental group “Accademia della sardegna” of Oristano directed by I Violino Fortunato Casu.
In 2009 he participated in the I International Choral Polyphony Competition “Cantincoro” obtaining good marks from the jury, in particular on the parameters “Technique”, “Articulation”, “Intonation”, “Rhythmic”, “Dynamic Expression”, “Artistic Impression”, Presence on stage” “Difficulty of the program”.
It is often present in the rites of the liturgy as a “Musical Chapel”, in particular of the Parish of St. Peter of Terralba.
Master Dante Muscas
Maestro Dante Muscas, studied composition and graduated in Choral Music and Choral Conducting at the Conservatory of Music G. P. from Palestrina di Cagliari, under the guidance of Maestro Vittorio Montis, in 1989.
He began studying music as a self-taught, then he followed piano lessons at the Ente Concerti di Oristano, securing several scholarships, as well as a piano as a gift for his skills and commitment to study. Later he obtained two more scholarships at the Conservatory of Music of Cagliari.
In 1989 he was chosen among the participants in the VII Sardinian Music Festival, reserved for young talents of Oristano and Province, for the performance on the piano of his own contemporary composition.
He has participated in several seminars of Choral Conducting and Musicology.
To his credit are several vocal, instrumental compositions and arrangements of sacred, religious, popular pieces, light music, transcriptions for choir of film music.
