The Association, from the beginning, carries out mainly musical (choral) activities, with a weekly lesson of 180 minutes, aimed at the study of unpublished choral pieces (primarily), but also of the vast and important traditional Sardinian repertoire. The texts, not necessarily in sardinian language, and the harmonizations are created specifically for the choir, but immediately looking for a different and more modern way than most Sardinian choirs. In fact, a different choral address was immediately chosen, based on popular chorality, not necessarily of a traditional Sardinian type. The debut of the choir, formed in 2016, takes place on January 5, 2017, with the organization of a choral and instrumental event.

The concert, entitled “Waiting for the Epiphany”, sees the participation of some polyphonic choirs from the province of Oristano and Nuoro, and, of course, the Santa Barbara choir. The concert was held at the parish of St. Peter the Apostle in the village. In October of the same year, on the occasion of the event “Autunno Solanese”, the Association organizes a choral review with the presence of choirs from Cagliari, Nuoro and Oristano, with the emblematic title “Happy Birthday Choir Santa Barbara”. Also this last evening was realized at the parish church of San Pietro in Solanas. In December, then, the choir makes its real debut outside its walls, just one year after the formation was a guest of the “Corale” in Siurgus Donigala, for an evening held at the local theater and with the presence of various choirs of the region. From then on, the choir actively participates both in the activities carried out on site and in various decentralizations.

The Association also avails itself of the services of some professional musicians (Piano and Violin in particular). Currently, an entirely new mass and new profane repertoire is being studied.
