The CHORUS INSIDE Federation, through its regional associations, is organizing activities of great utility for its choristers. The reading of music, for Italian choristers, is a great gap to be filled in order to have a solid foundation on which to base musical growth. Maestro Luciano Fiore, professor of Theory, rhythm and musical perception at the Conservatory of Music "L. PEROSI" of Campobasso, will hold 10 lessons to provide the necessary tools to the choristers for a reading based on the musical experience, deprived of all the abstractions with which often in the past many have come across losing stimuli and motivations.

Online conference organized by FEDERCORI – Chorus Inside This meeting is conceived as a stimulus for a verification / exploration "on the field" that the interested participants will have to carry out in their own choral context. The aim is to acquire the elements of scientific knowledge and a systematic recognition of advanced teaching in use in the most accredited schools and choral traditions of great value, with interventions by specialists in the field. The path of 4 meetings (120 minutes each), is structured according to the following program: 1st appointment – The height of the sound, the notes, the pentagram, the keys. Intervals The durations, the rhythms in time of binary division (simple times) and ternary division (compound times) Readings, auditory recognition exercises, easy transcriptions 2nd appointment – The major scale, structure, degrees of the scale, the tonic. The stairs with the diesis and with the flats, circle of the 5e Time and strong time, the joke. Metric indication Readings, examples and exercises of auditory recognition 3rd appointment – The minor scale. Tonic and dominant. Countertime and syncope Readings, examples and exercises of auditory recognition, easy transcriptions 4th appointment – Melodies, scales and modulations. Intervals and triads. Start in rising and beating. Readings, examples and exercises of auditory recognition, easy transcriptions. The student is guided in a path that makes him aware of many "musical structures" that are already within us, thanks to our cultural baggage, and that we can exploit to improve reading. It is therefore not a course of theory and solfeggio but of training in sung reading and the development of attention and musical ear. PAULA GALLARDO SERRAO Argentina by birth has completed the Studies of Composition, 8th year of Piano and Diploma of Professor of Music Education at the Conservatory "G. Gilardi" of La Plata (Argentina). He also obtained the Higher Diploma of Composition at the Conservatory "F. Morlacchi" of Perugia. Among the Professors, the Masters E. Carranza, S. Malbràn, M. Rappallini, E. Gerardi, V. Maragno, O. Escalada in Argentina. Master Edgar Alandia in Italy. Interpreter and composer-arranger of various musical genres (classical music, salsa, tango, klezmer music and children's music).
The FEDERCORI Federation (Federazione Cori Italiani Chorus Inside – APS Ente Terzo Settore), with the aim of giving continuity to the choral activities of its members and offering a highly qualified context in which to evaluate the performances carried out by the choirs in the period 2019/2020, has for the first time organized an International Competition in "VIRTUAL" edition. The difficult period in which we live forces us to this "anomalous" but necessary formula and we hope that as soon as possible we will be able to return to organize all our LIVE Festivals. In the "Christmas Inside 2020" Competition, however, we safeguarded the artistic quality of the event, appointing 5 members of the Jury of absolute international prestige and attributing to each participating choir a recognition for the commitment and the will shown despite the objective difficulties faced for the health emergency. The FEDERCORI Federation (Federazione Cori Italiani Chorus Inside – APS Ente Terzo Settore), with the aim of encouraging and promoting the production of new repertoires, announces a Selection of Original Choral Compositions aimed at the publication of volumes dedicated to living composers of choral music. Participation in the Competition is open to all composers of any nationality without age limits. 8/10 compositions will be selected for each volume for the following types of choir:
- mixed voice choirs
- female choirs
- male choirs
- children's choirs
The compositions may be sacred or profane, a cappella or with instrumental accompaniment of piano or organ. The compositions must have the following characteristics:
- destination and degree of difficulty suitable for an amateur choir.
- duration between 2 and 5 minutes.
- The compositions must be unpublished.
The texts may be in Italian, English, German, French, Spanish and Latin, and must be accompanied by the permission of the author and / or publisher who holds the rights, if protected by copyright. The texts must be reported on a pdf file accompanied by a translation into Italian if necessary and must indicate precisely from which sources they are taken. Each composer can send a maximum of two songs. The compositions must be sent no later than February 28, 2021 through the online form on the website www.chorusinside.com in which they must enter the following data of the composer:
- First and last Name
- Date and place of birth
- Home address
- Valid e-mail address for any communications
- Phone
- Song title
- Motto or alphanumeric code of recognition reported in the score
- Year of composition
- duration
- Organic
- File with the text, translated into Italian if necessary, and its source (collection, publisher, year of publication, etc.).
- Composer's resume
- Statement that the song was not previously released
- Declaration signed by the composer regarding the possible permission of the publisher of the text or of those who hold the rights.
The scores must be sent in PDF format, made with Finale, Sibelius or a similar program. The composer's name must not be visible anywhere in the score. Each score must be distinguished by a short motto or alphanumeric code of recognition, to be reported in the registration form. The jury will be given only the pdf of the score without references of the composer. The identity of the composer will not be disclosed to the jury before or during the evaluation phase. The compositions will be examined by a qualified international Jury made up of 5 members appointed by the National Artistic Commission of the FEDERCORI Federation. Each member of the Jury will assign a score from 1 to 10 for each parameter below:
- compositional quality,
- level of difficulty appropriate to an amateur choir,
- coherence in the text/music relationship and/or in the compositional idea with respect to the title (in the case of pieces related to onomatopoeia)
The final score will be given by the arithmetic summation of the scores of each individual member of the Jury, discarding the highest score and the lowest score. From 8 to 10 compositions will be selected for each volume. The minimum score to be included in the publication is 70 out of 90. The results will be made known to all composers by communication to the e-mail address they will indicate for registration. The songs in the published volumes will be indicated as obligatory pieces in future Competitions and Festivals that will promote the International Chorus Inside Federation. The composers, once selected the scores that will compose the volumes, will provide the release by ceding the related rights. Participation is free for composers / conductors belonging with their choir to the FEDERCORI Federation – Chorus Inside, otherwise there is a participation fee of € 40.00 (forty). All expenses related to the printing of the volumes will be borne by the FEDERCORI Federation.
